how far can u drive when you low gas light comes on?

The MPG average canot be trusted on this...

In the MS3 you have at most 50-60 Miles..I tested this theory a few weeks ago...light came on at 200...ran out of gas at 253..luckily gas station was close..

Easy city driving too free way you mey get a little more but doubt it...

It's just a ploy by mazda to make you buy more gas. mazda and the gas companies have an agreement. you will never actually run out of gas.

Yeah there are two reserve tanks, one at the back of glove box and another under the rear seat, good for 200 miles! Ever wonder why sometimes the level just drops all of a sudden? Well while cruising, the ecu secretly pumps some gas from the main tank to the reserves.

Wow, really? I just filled up for the first time. The tank was full when we got it. I drove it 256 miles and only had to put 12 gallons into the tank (to fill it up)! I guess it depends on how you drive (boom06) (jk)

You can run it at least this far down and still have 20+ miles to go.

Don't try to push it.

The light came on for me so I stopped in on the way to work. The pumps weren't working so I had to go without. On the way home I decided to wait until tomorrow and pick up the gas the next day on the way. I ran out less than a mile from my house the next day. It sucked. My total round trip commute was 26 kms.

Maybe on older cars. Run it till your light comes on and fill up ASAP.
On any car that has an electric fuel pump in the tank. The fuel keeps the pump cool.

I fill up when it's around the 1/4 mark. Only got down to the warning light once. Yep, it was on an unfamiliar interstate and only a couple months after I bought it.

you shouldn't run less than a 1/4 tank. your fuel pump uses the gas to dissipate heat.

If that was the case then a lot of the taxi's in the philippines would have failed pumps. It seems like they never put more then 2 gallons gas in there car. I even had one run out of gas when I was in the car.

WTF!!! our car come with a display? WHERE? i swear i didn't notice it and i have the car for 2 months now lol

Don't know if you're being sarcastic. But next to the clock button is a button that says INFO. Hold it down for a few seconds and release. Then just push it to view the different settings. There is AVG MPG, AVG MPH, REMAINING MILES, CURRENT MPG. I think that is all of them.

In my Ram and 300C, the lamp kicks on when the computer figures there's fifty miles to sputter-sputter -- quit.

thx man! i wasn't being sarcastic lol i just never noticed!

on Subarus you have 2.3 gallons when the light comes on. On Jeeps, you have 3 gallons.

There doesn't seem to be a spec in the mazda owners manual however.

I have run my MS3 to "0 mile remaining" twice. Both times it took ~12.5 gallons. Tank size capacity listed as 14.5 gallons. I'm no mathemetician, but best I can figure is that 14.5-12.5=2, so I'm going with 2 gallons as the "reserve."
