I think they are hard to find. (factory Mazda ones, anyway) I've been trying to locate one recently with no luck...
I know I've seen a couple of P5's with them here though.
I can get it from the dealerships around my place pretty easily...maybe because I am in canada. But is it really worthy to spend $80CAN for it? what is the main use of it?
I wouldn't have a vehicle without one. By changing the air flow over the car it helps to prevent paint chips on the hood as well as reduce chips & cracks to the windshield from road salt, rocks and other debris. It also keeps bugs off the windshield far better than without.
The one at the Mazda dealer is probably not a factory piece, its probably aftermarket. Mazda stopped making them back in 2005. I have a PROFIT model on my pro5 and it works and looks great.
I just realized that the deflector is made by FORM FIT, not PROFIT as mentioned earlier. I can get you one and mail it to you, though it might be expensive. Here's some pics of what it looks like installed. No drilling into the hood, just clips and screws for tension.
guys,
I know it looks great, I got one to. However, be warned that it comes off after some time and takes the paint with it. mine fly off after 8 months. Both mine and my Brother-in-laws car (both P5) had the deflector fly off while driving on the highway.
Problem is there are 4 little screws that pinch the edge of the hood. That is all that is holding it in place. Most high quality shields get screwed though the hood.
I found one guy that glued and screwed it on and he claims it has never moved in many years.
