this is my dyno from Speedquest Inc., i'm not sure if the numbers are any good since i have nothing to compare them too...if someone could give me a conversion for hp to whp or a dyno of a 1.8 stock that'd be great!

(those jumps in the graph is from the bad connection when they hooked it up to my spark plug wires (i guess stock wires are better)...oh well, i got the idea...)

whp: 102
torque: 114

nice numbers...now i know how much my car probably puts down since we have the same mods..I will have all the lightweight pulleys in soon so I doubt the gains will be that much more.

looks like its runs rich, maybe some tuning is in order

98whp was what my 1.8L ATX was doing with CAI, Header, 626 manifold and stock exhaust.

well sometime soon (over the summer) i plan to:

put in my lightweight pulleys (i got them too), to hookup a piggyback i got (and tune it), and put more piping in for the CAI, so when thats all done i will dyno again and see what numbers i can get...hoping for at least 10 more, but we'll see!

not sure what i can else afford power gaining wise...

sounds good

the rest of your mods will be felt on the road and not seen on a dyno..like lightweight wheels, lightweight anything basically,

My 1999 ES is putting down about 200 to the wheels. But then again, it's not the original 1.8 platform, it's the 2.0 msp :D

But then again, you don't have to worry about throwing a rod through your block, or your LSD crapping out at any given time. Fair trade I guess lol.

well last night I actually kept up with my friends mazda 6 2.3 N/A with only CAI and lightweight rims. dont really know how that works out but all I can say is mods ftw.

also KZL what type of exhaust you running..starting from header to catback.

More chances of the F-series 1.8 tranny doing this though.

(and no the side gears don't have small teeth... I machined them down with my right foot)

I have a Racing Beat, with no *headers* at all...sounds very fine too!

ohh so you havent upgraded headers yet?

they give you a nice gain..I would do headers first for biggest gain then midpipe and then catback like the racing beat.

I did catless midpipe and racing beat at the same time..then later headers and it sounds real nice.

no...oops, sorry...um i have, edit *no cats at all*

i have the obx 4 in 1 header, with stock midpipe (to get a little bit of back-pressure back...lol)

i also want to heat wrap that bad boy too, do you think one roll will cover all of it?

ooh lol..well to tell you the truth about the heat wrap I am not sure. I was gonna stay away from them because many people have said that heat wrap just causes more problems like cracking on the headers...unless you have the AWR ones which are different steel then all the OBX/tsudo/thunder. I would get them jet-hot coated to make them look sick..and keep the temps down lower then the wrap would.

They sell a bigger roll, I used 1 and a half on some really nice headers on a chevelle. So the big roll should cover it.
