If there's anything that Vince Burlapp of Hollywood Extra fame is good for, it's random sketches with no attribution and even less information. This newest pic appears to be a possible concept for a Mazda6-based coupe, sporting many of the design elements already seen in the newly redesigned Atenza.

Shifting into speculation mode, a Mazda6 coupe (or return of the MX6) seems like a great way to expand the range of Mazda's two-door offerings, while providing some competition for buyers looking at the Nissan Altima and Honda Accord coupes. We'll take that a step further and use our powers of prognostication to equip the coupe with both the 2.5-liter four and possibly the 3.7-liter V6, along with offering a Mazdaspeed version sporting the MS3's turbocharged 2.3-liter mill. We're smelling a winner, but it's all a pipedream until we hear something from Mazda.

I don't know. The Altima coupe and 350Z would probably be comparable to this situation. It'd be pretty different demographics for each car.

350z = sports car 2 seater

Altima Coupe = sports coupe is a 2+2

Both the RX-8 and 6 sports coupe will compete with each other. Both seat 4 people.

Yes, but one's a real sports car that is lightweight and RWD, and the other is simply a coupe. A 6 coupe would be a poser coupe like the Accord or the Solara. A MS6 coupe might be pretty decent, but it'd still be heavy. This would simply let Mazda fight for the older demographic that wants to look cool in a coupe, but doesn't want all of the tradeoffs that go with driving the RX-8 (small, smallish trunk, etc.).

i thought they were gonna make a 6 coupe (new mx6) when i saw this picture a while back

It is an original Mazda sketch by Youichi Sato, but it's not necessarily a coupe nor does it necessarily portend a coupe version. It's a line drawing to get an initial draw down of the lines.

I think this is the logical progression: Sato-sama is a coupe guy - he designed the RX-7. Tasked with penning a sporty four door sedan, he started with what he knew best (a coupe) then he massaged the proportions and lines to produce a sedan. Doing this retains some of the sporty coupe-ish character to the sedan design.

Note the coupe-ish proportions of these initial 2nd gen 6 concepts and how Sato evolved a sedan from it:
