Custom Cam Specs, your opinion.

I'm trying to read the cam doctor profile and I'm not 100% sure but here is what I could determine:

Twiggy Bumpstix - Intake
seat duration =
.050" duration = 221 degrees
Gross cam lift = .341"
Hot valve lash =
Net cam lift = .343"
intake opens 0.8 degrees BTDC
intake closes 40.8 degrees ABDC

Exhaust
seat duration =
.050" duration = 230 degrees
Gross cam lift = .374"
Hot valve lash =
Net cam lift = .375"
exhaust opens 5.9 degrees BTDC
exhaust closes 44.4 degrees ABDC

intake opens 20 degrees BTDC

Stage 1 Intake
seat duration = 256 degrees
.050" duration = 217 degrees
Gross cam lift = .346"
Hot valve lash = .014"

Maybe I will scan the sheets so someone else can check it.

From the twiggy GB, note the measurements are quoted at .003" lift not .050"

Yeah I was originaly going to go with the twiggy profile, but determined that the 268/268 setup would be more benefitial for me.

Just an update your you guys, the cams are off at the platers right now getting copper plating. They will be back next week, then the shop will grind the copper off of the lobes and bearings and then send it off for heat treating.

Heres a link to some valvetrain equipment..

Well after waiting a few weeks for the heat treater, Integral got the cams back today and started finishing them up. So the cams will shipp out tom and I should get them in a few days.

But since my car burns more oil than the near by oil refinery, I might wait until I get that fixed, before I install the cams. I know my valve seals are pretty much shot, and my piston ring in cyl 1, is also shot.

Wow that sounds expensive, hope you have enough to repair it. Going forged?

Yeah, Im planning on getting a speed circuit shortblock, with a ported head & 3 angle valve job also done by Dana, eibach valve springs, and maybe supra retainers, (i heard they should work for our cars).

BTW the cams shipped today and Im supose to get them on monday. Ill post pics when I get them. Mmmmm

nice...another built msp! Interested in those supra retainers you mentioned..I'm looking to upgrade my valvetrain as well so if you have a hookup or something let me know. I've been trying to get some eibach valve springs but no such luck so far..

CAMS are here!!!! Yay, here are some pics. I know they might seem shity, but im not taking them out of the bags just to take the pics, since they are sealed.

Looks SICK.

They look pretty badass, Im hoping they performe as good as they look. Im kinda in a debate, should i install cams or wait till i fix the car. I want to install them, and see what they can do, but then again I dont want to mess up my car anymore than it already is.

you should do both at the same time. All you'll need extra are the valve seals and a headgasket. If you need a stock mazda headgasket I'll hook you up bro, I have a brand new one.

Looks good man,Let us know when you install the cams.Id like to see what kind a difference it makes.Im getting my speedcircuit head installed this weekend and plan on getting custom ground cams from integral matched to my head.(rockon)

For which motor though? 2jz or 7m?

Im not quite sure YET. I have to do more research, but i was told that .I will be looking more into that, and i will keep everyone posted. I hope that my head will be as strong as my bottomend.
