Cleaned Engine Bay. Before and after comparo.

Those of you who know me, know how meticulous I am with my car, and I must say I'm embarrased to post this here, but while the engine was out I did a clean. I mean I pressure washed everything. I even took a scrub brush to the underside of the car! (Obsessed much!?) This thing has only been cleaner at the factory itself. 99,996Km (exactly) of road grime and s***. I took a toothbrush to my suspension!

The fluids are from the engine blowing. Don't worry, got a full CS exhaust to replace that s*** stock midpipe.

Our engine bays are hideous. A wire-tuck would be quite the job. At least it is clean.

this is something i need to do. but the engine has to remain in the car lol. looks like alot of tooth brush scrubbing and simple green for me

I'm afraid thats the case. I just laugh and smile every time i drive the car and chuck it into a turn, and come out the other side with the ass end sliding around and a blow off valve scaring little old ladies walking down the street. I couldn't bring myself to sell it. (And, there was the minor problem that no one could afford to buy it).

Will do nick! In a small off topic sidenote... How has the GTX gearset worked out thus far? Did you source them direct from the dealer or through Protege Garage?

Got them cheaper through the dealer. 3rd, 5th, revised 3/4 synchros, new 5th synchros, revised LSD (welded...) Not sure what I'm missing as far as other tranny stuff I bought. Lemme find the link. I dug up the part number for 4th too. 4th is the same ratio, but stronger. I could get it through the dealer, but they had to get it from Japan and I didn't wanna wait 3 weeks, thinking I'd have my engine by now so I jsut went 3rd and 5th. I'm not sure if the GTX 4th is stronger anyways, but 3rd and 5th are visibly beefier.

You swap in the gears from the 1988 323 GTX AWD transmission. They are much stronger.
