I bought a set of used MSP taillights from SugarShane04 (THANKS!) and just got around to installing them finally. For those who wonder what the difference between them is, here you go:

My ES taillights:

MSP taillights:

The difference is very subtle and would probably go unnoticed by anyone.

only diff is the pinkish hue to the turn and reverse light?

EDITED: YES the only REAL differenceis there is a slight pinkish hue to the lights on the MSP vs. the standard protege.

I guess thats all they could think to change with them when they made the MSP.. Im sure the convo was something like

"we gotta change something to the taillights... you know, so itll be different..."

and this is what they came up with...

I wanna say that since your car is newer the MSP ones are just dirty or mostly just hazed from the sun.

My passenger side taillight was cracked (not bad- but I knew it was there) so that's what prompted this change. I dislike the clear Altezza-like lights that seem to be the only other choice for different taillights so I went with these.

I can certainly notice the difference. It's probably even more evident in person. The MSP tails look sweeter, IMO.

yuck, i hated the pink tail lights, thats why i traded for regular tails.

imo an mp3/msp wing is pointless unless you have the rear sideskirts/rear lip to compliment it.

I see what you mean, I never knew there was a difference with Protege tails and Msp tails...cool. I just did this for 10$ or 15$, I forget....from Bluebatmobile.
