Oil return feed/Turbo leaking ?

:
2003.5 MSP
While I was changing my oil on a lift I started looking at the trubo and what not from under neath it. Well The oil return line/feed is it the one with hex bolt on them it has two? One of them was partially saturated in oil and had a drop of oil hanging from it so I used crab cleaner to clean it off. I tried to tighten it but it was already tight.

Can anyone tell me what it could be from? OR what I am talking about is what I said it is?

Sorry no pictures as of now but when i get a chance i will

Thanks

Exactly the same is happening to me as how you described it.

It has never got serious enough to drop anything on the ground yet *touch wood* so I am not losing sleep over it.

mine too, .....where can i find a rebuild kit for the stock turbo?
and how hard is it to rebuild?

your lucky i guess, your turbo could be really wet like mine. i have some pretty significant shaft play and it leaks oil into and around the intake tube.

time for a turbo rebuild :(

im assuming its due to the fact the previous owner really didnt care about the car and drove it 32k w/o ever letting it cool down enough (lacking turbo timer) and put in a mbc at 8psi with just a cai lol. being that our turbos are not ball bearing its just riding on a rubber seal that gets destroyed when shutting down at high temps

i'm running on 8 psi with just a CAI, why is that bad??

the actuator broke, and the one i put in gave me 2 extra psi

meh, i stand corrected, i thought ours were not ball bearing turbos.

47k, but i have a feeling with my current mods it will be hard for me to obtain warranty on such a problem. i do have a friend who can take it to a place to be rebuilt for $50 cash on the side and it only takes a day to do.

so i called my writer at mazda who knows i have mods done to my car and bribed him with an excellent survey and he said he is gonna see what he can do and i should call back later once the tech that works on my car gets back from lunch lol. hopefully he can save me the trouble and money of getting the turbo rebuilt, and just warranty me a new one

SUCCESS!!!

i have an apt on tuesday to make sure it's the turbo that is leaking and not the oil return line (which there is a tsb on actually), but either way it WILL be covered under my 4yr/50k warranty

I'm glad to see that Mazda is helping you fix your problem!

Good Luck!

Yeah, we are talking about different issues here.

Mine is probably leaking from the oil return. Never seen any sign of of inside my hot pipe.

TSB you say? Interesting, can you get some sort of print out from the dealership and tell me about this, or should I call them up and ask about any TSBs?

I hope i get a new turbo..hehe naaa i'm cool with the turbo now..haha

the tech told me it actually involves the return line leaking due to lack of the correct o-ring and he has replaced a couple already.

here is some usefull info i purchased access to when i bought my car from alldata. i had the following problems with mine that have been repaired already. unfortunately this one about the oil return line on the msp is not in there yet, so it must be fairly new.

Reflash TSB
AC #2 position flashing/not working

i also attached some pictures of my leaky turbo and you can see that it is not coming from the line but all around the ic hose and if i could get a better shot its around the intake hose also
