Just installed Progress Suspension

I just installed a set of Progress Suspension springs on my P5, lowers the car 1.5" all around. It looks absolutely perfect. About 1 1/2 finger's width of wheel gap up front, 1 finger in the back. In other words, very little visible gap, and no "tucked" look.

But something during the installation REALLY concerned me: after switching the rear springs and reinstalling the spring perch, etc., on the assembly, the springs were not squeezing tightly against their perches at the top. In fact, after reinstalling the whole assembly back into the wheel well, if you compressed the spring with your fingers, you could slightly dislodge it from the perch. Is this normal with lowering springs? No such concerns with the front springs; those were tight.

Of course, with the car back on the ground, the springs are firmly locked in... but if one were to, say, go airborne, couldn't that bring the springs out of their perches? Hope I'm not worried for nothing!

yes, if you went airborn it could, id take it easy on the springs for the first few weeks till they adjust, i have had several lowered cars the first one i had i had a coil jump out cuz i hit a bump to hard and came off the ground a few inches. but once i put it back in went easy for aabout a month it never popped out after that.

How is the ride with the Progress springs, bumpy, noisy, bouncy, and where did you get them from?
Thanks,
Anthony

So far, I'm very satisfied with the ride... it is slightly stiffer, you can feel the bumps and seams in the road a little more, but not significantly. Of course, I've not driven any other MP5's with Eibachs, Spools, H&R's, etc, so I can't compare the quality. Also, I'm running stock struts... could benefit from MP3 or MazdaSpeed struts. It's only been 7 days, too... give me a little more seat time. Still have concerns about the rear springs not compressing tightly against the perches... can't get myself to drive hard.

I got them from No Limit Motorsports, ordered them directly from their site, $175 shipped... and shipped fast !!! Like three days fast! You can also check out the Progress Group home site at www.progressauto.com.

I've attached a couple pics of the MP5.

As far as the springs not holding against the perch, that is normal in all the cars I've lowered. Remember, you are using a lowered spring now. It should be shorter in height than the stock spring, therefore, there will be play while uninstalled. With the weight of the car on the springs, you shouldn't have any problems with them unseating, and reseating themselves incorrectly. If that happens, you shouldn't be driving that fast, or should easily be able to see those bumps in the road!!
