World Racing 2 for PC

Anyone playing this?

I tried to like NFS MW but I just could not get into it. TOo cheezy, controls suck

So I started playing this.

Gorgeous graphics, and car phyics are just the right mix of real/arcade. The sense of speed can get nuts. You start off in some older cars, but work your way up. The races get intense. Off road, rally, drift ( even drifts in 4x4 offroad comps)

graphic detail is nuts. The damage to your car is the best I've seen a long time on any platform. And little thing like leaving paths in grass stay there forever, even if you restart.

I'll have to try it sometime. Just started playing GT4 again a few days ago. Not realistic in some ways, that game, but it's got it all where it counts.

The first few cars you get are the usual old boring ones most games start you off in. Give it a few races and a chance. This is NOT need for speed...thank god. Although you can add wheels and vinyl if it's something you feel you can't do without....ricer :)

also, I hated the music and abient sounds. That's the one thing I did turn off

I'm playing at 1280x1024 with everything on max, surround sound, 4x AA, and frame rates are superb. P4 3.0gig, 6800gt.

some reviews. You'll notice it's hard to tell what screen shots are in game and which ones are vids...they are that close.

You'll start off on simple ovals, then some road courses, drags, timed, then drifts, then they'll throw in races where you have to drift and race. It also has a point system like PGR's Kudos system

I'm using a Wheel. Analog Joystick was "ok". Forget the keyboard as the game requires precision and is too fast paced later on in the game for a keyboard.

pro race car driver 1 and 2 were really good on the pc. those are something you guys should try as well.
