Thought my damn Dog was a Pittbull. I was shocked.
Now, my dog does bark if he dont know you or can cant reach you, but this is to get your attention and make you come over to pet him. If anyone knows anything about boxers, they are attention hogs. They want all of it.
They are also one of the most lovable, friendly dogs out there. Yet they ARE protective of thier family. They will not come at you barking and ready to bite you. What most will do is put themselves between you and thier owner, tail wagging, looking for some petting. This is actually thier way of separating you from me, until they see your a friend, then you REALLY get the happy treatment.
Regardless, I am not saying Pitts are bad, I know some of the most friendly dogs to be Pitts. Its al about how the owners raise the dog. IF you raise them with love and affection, they are the greatest dogs.
It truly saddens me that everyone thinks big dogs are vicious and evil, when in realty, the little yap yap dogs are the ones with the aggression tendancies, and inability to be friendly. The large breed dogs tend to be on the gentle side, again, unless thier owners are assclowns and treat or train thier dogs to be mean.
Sorry for the rant, but it just seems that my new neighbors have prejudged my dog, and apparently me, to be mean assholes. I tried to offer help moving in, after I got Maximus in the house, but they refused and pretty much said "We dont need your help, white trash!!!!" (not that they really said that, but thier tone made it appear that way) Bah, sorry again.
