Sweet rides. What kind of engine mods to you have on the white one. What is it i can't tell, is it an mp3, msp, or regular protege, becuz it doesnt have a sunroof.
 
it is an es with the wings west prototype body kit.....(before they reg released their kit) it has headers/hyanami exhaust... apexi fuel management(i think...i forget right now) we are beginning to build a turbo kit right now for it......

Hmm the more I look at the pictures the more it just looks like a glare and pixellation.
 
1.5 or 1.8 turbo or 2.0 mazdaspeed

i would like to know which is the best putting a turbo on the 1.5 vvti or going with a 1.8 turbo right out of Japan which we get in the islands,all the time [ could get the GTR out of Japan but,its little hard to find],or puttiong in a Mazdaspeed from the USA.
 
I dunno.. and I feel like a newb for saying this but I didn't even know Mazda had a 1.5l VVTi???? I thought that was Toyota?

to straight answer your question the 1.5L has the shortest stroke and fattest rods...it also puts down the same power stock as the 2.0L....but you would really need the j-spec ecu also to control the variable valve timing....just so you know also the mazda system is actually called s-vt....it is similar to toyota's vvt-i system
 
Umm no, the 1.5L Z5 in the 2nd gen wasn't VVT.

The JDM 3rd gen had an option of a 130ps 1.5L ZL-VE motor w/ VVT.

So how hard would it be to get my hands on a set of the cams and/or cam gears from this engine?

that is actually easy, a guy got the cams from cork sport and poped them in, he said it was more agressive than the stockers.. u would have to use haltec ex6 to control the svt if you use the entire head..
