i have some questions about the slipstreams and subzeros. does anyone know how much both wheels would cost for a set of 17s? i know the slipstreams come in a 17X7.5 or wider wheel. is this wheel too wide for a 02 protege es. also, does anyone know the weight of both wheels or have any experience with them, such as having purchased them and riding around with them as daily driven wheels? would anyone know how much the slipstreams weigh in a 16X7 wheel size? also, what is the weight of the stock 16s. i think i read that it's like 16lbs for each wheel, but im not sure if that's accurate or not. im trying to keep the weight similar so that my tach isn't thrown off too much. thanks for all the help, and i greatly appreciate it.

i believe slipstream is not offered in 17inch but they might have changed that. for pricing go to http://www.machiii.net/main001.html and check them out they have planty of wheels there. Also you can call them and ask for Wally. He is a cool dude and he'll hook you up : )

That link is incorrect...here is the right one:
http://www.machiii.net/Rota_wheels.html

Slipstreams come in 16x7, 17x8, or 17x8.5 and weight 12, 13, and 13.5 lbs respectivly.
Subzeros come in 15x6.5, 16x7, 17x7.5, or 18x7.5, and weigh 12, 14.5, 16.5 and 18 lbs respectively.

I ordered my Rota Track-Rs from machiii and they are a great deal if you buy tires and have them mount and balance everything.

yeah they do a nice job balancing too. At least they did on mine....
I stand corrected on the sleepstream size thanks for correctig me chuyler

go with the 16x7 slips, you won't be disapointed, they are the best thing i've done to my car thus far.

I've got steel grey Rota Subzero's (17x7.5" on 205/40/17 tires) on my 2000 Protege - I bought them used so I'm not sure how much they are worth new. I really like them - eventually I may get them powercoated bronze or if possible gold. Just a note - you can fit a 205/40/17 tire on the 7.5" rim but it doesn't look great - a wider 215/40/17 would look much better.

Here's some pics of them on the car: http://www3.sympatico.ca/jon.wilson

i have rota subzero's 17 by 7.5 48 offset and 225/45/17 tires and i only rubbed on really big bumps with people in the car. and i fixed that with a rubber mallet

thanks for the replys guys and girls(if there are no girls im sorry, but i can never leave them out). i think i'll go with the subzeros. i like the slipstreams, but im not a fan of smaller wheels, and im only a little under an inch lower than stock. im thinking about getting the bronze wheels or just get silver. anyone know where i can find pics of the bronze wheels? the car doesn't really matter to me. im just curious of the type of bronze color it is. i think they have 2 different or even possibly 3 different bronzes. once again thanks everyone.
