So yeah.. I have a set of 18x7.5 +45 offset with 215/35 wheels from the REV group buy.. and I have some major rubbing in the rear with this setup, more rubbing than a lapdance from a stripper!

I've rolled my fenders (lip), and thought that would do the trick, but it turns out its not rubbing the fender lip, its actually rubbing the inner wheel well!

I know that new struts/shocks would stiffen the ride, but would it stiffen it enough so that it doesn't dip low enough to hit the inner fenders?

If this doesn't help, are there any other suggestions?

Thanks!
Ryan

Oh btw.. I'm dropped about 2"

What kind of pictures are you looking for exactly? Does this thread need pics of where its rubbing? I don't get the "TTIWWP" deal?

Do you have the bump stops removed? Struts won't really help that much. They will help a little, but the springs are the way to stiffen the suspension. Bump stops would be the best way to keep it from bottoming.

Nope, I still have them on. Is there any way of raising the car without having to buy different springs?

smaller rims might help ... :)
ha ha haa.. Thanks Mike! How's the tan.. cali boy?! (usa)

I'm thinking these REV rims aren't really +45 offset

wow man im dropped about 2.5 inches and i have 18x7.5 wheels with a 45 offset and i only rubb on the rear pass side on the rear fender lip and reely only wen i have more than 2 ppl in the car and i take a hard turn

as for raising the springs w/o gettin new ones my buddies have trucks and they sell these spring helper things tht kinda look like screws tht u put into ur springs tht make em a lil higher and stiff the springs so they dont have as much give try those

well i know at pepboys they have these like rubber inserts that you can stick inbetween the coils to raise the ride hieght a little bit. . dunno if those applications are for cars but ive seen them in the store

Same here. 215/35-18, lowered with sh!tty Goldlines ~1.75" drop and I rub like mad on passenger side with passengers and every so often if I hit a bump right. I rolled the lips as much as possible. The attached picture is the best one I could find to show where it was rubbing but since this picture I have rolled the lip in half and trimmed at least 3mm of plastic off the plastic bumper. I am rubbing right at the bend where the metal goes from being horizontal with the bumper and the curve of the wheel well. I can't get the bender to compress that section. Metal is too flexible... Might end up using sheet metal pliers?

Anybody have any clue on if you can machine down rotor plates a couple mm with no adverse effects?

I would either go with a 205 Tire or a spring that doesnt drop as low...Perhaps racing beat or eibach

lol... cali is great.

didn't Adam (murda) get on the gb for the REV rims as well? unless he's only running 17" ...

Yeah Adam was in on the group buy and has 17s..

I have a feeling that its either the offset's wrong.. or there's something wrong with my suspension (springs not stiff enough or my struts/shocks are done) cuz I know there's a few people on this board, that are running the same setup and don't have any issues with them.

Shoot if worse comes to worst.. I'll end up cutting my stock springs just to raise it a little more! (glare)

I have 225-35-18 on my p5 and i used to rub A LOT. I have coilovers now with stiff springs and the fenders have ben rolled ... NOW i dont rub at all even with 5 people. Man, i cant even fit 40 profile tries on there, wow. But be careful cus before i fixed the rubbing problem, i rubbed everywhere and my rear tires are all uneven and bumpy and now i need new tires and they still have tread.. :(

BTW does any one have tires they want to sell me, im putting 17's on the car now so i need tires any one got anything??? :)

Is that a fender roller in your attachment? I have never seen one of those before. I rub just slightly in the rear, and I need to roll my fenders...
