get your beers out and ready its going to be a depressing one

They're starting out with a 160-170ps MR20DE. They will eventually be making a 4WD version with a turbocharged motor around 270-280ps according to the article.

so yes no more rwd...sigh let the comments begin i dont mind the rear so much but cant stand the headlights dont know really what to think how could nissan do this to the silvia line...

agreed, rear looks ok, front sucks, fwd sucks, so does awd. what's an mr20 motor? is it out yet in anything or no?

im about 3 % sure... lol nah im pretty sure this is it, ive seen other pics claiming this is the new silvia and i pulled this off a nissan forum that i go to as well soo....

ouch, what a turd

and what's with the no RWD, people can't handle a bit of oversteer? (jerkit)

not much of those concept designs you see in the magazines actually make it into production anyway. anyone remember the "next gen" supra designs they supposedly had coming out? that was YEEEAARRRSSS back already. it is true though nissan has some cars leaning toward the FF market but they wouldn't bring back the Z and develop the skyline (G35) if they wanted to shy away from the FR sport market completely. it'll be an interesting few years in car devlopment.

Wouldnt believe it JApanese car magazine and news areticles are alot of hype! ALOT! I know im asian and my parent read this s*** all the time. Alot of times the drawings and renderings are done by japanese design students.

The only way I'll believe it is if it showed up at an international autoshow. or a spy shot wsa posted in testing phase. Until then its jsut a drawing on paper. And it also looks like its based of a G35/350Z platform/chasis...which is another cost cutting move on Nissan part.

I think the market for Cheap 2d RWD sports car under or around $20K is gone. Nice concept but who knows...nissan is always trying to bring things back and they either fail or suceed. If they suceed it starts a new trend.

nissan said that this car will not come out.

there is a concept with pics on the net somewhere. the pics i saw on the 240 forums was yellow.

i just cant wait till the vq35dett comes out.
i gotta work on my g/f to do the swap in her 350.

vq engine owns! vq30de is still fast as s***. Guy on maxima.org has a 98 white max running mid 11's. Ive met the guy at the annual maxima meet 2 years ago, and s*** that thing is quick! Anyhow, vq35de is awesome but if Nissan will come out with TT version **** me then. That will be a killer!

the new skyline will have the vq35dett and it has different internals and it will be fast as hell. but it will never compare to the rb26dett.

hopefully ill have the rb26 in my car in the next year. then 700hp will be in my hands.

the max ill be able to get out of mine will be 550whp on stock internals.
the rb is better for drag but not for drift. but the rb is capable of 1000 whp on stock internals.

damn you and your avatar stealing ways...lol. I really hope they don't make it FWD, thats like, making a FWD mustang, or a low hp corvette, or a slow ferrari...just wrong...bah.

fwiw, scc says the new gt-r will more likely have a vq30dett rather than a vq35dett (it's in feb 05's issue). makes sense to me, a higher revving motor for more top end power rather than low end power from a larger displacement. all just speculation now though, so really doesn't matter at all :) hell, we probably won't even get it

I hope it does..VQ35DE have high compression. Would be a pretty halfass job on Cosworth part to leave it at stock compression. Have anyone seen the pistons they sell for the Focus RS...BEAUTIFUL!

But I still like my six cylinder inline..although the VQ puts out decent power NA. The RB is still the better engine. the engine family is almost 10 years old and is proven. Its someting about inlnline 6s that get my attention.

Ive seen a very different picture of a 240 concept for the 07 production year in speed mag, anyone else seen it?

that car looks like the deformed offspring of an s2000 and a scion tC with a pair of cadillac xlr headlamps slapped in for good measure

there is a lot of speculation on what motor nissan will use and how much they will upgrade.

weather it be 3.0 or 3.5 liter they will have different internals.

the gtr will be twin turbo. power is said to be b/w 400-450 hp.

with the market they have created with the sr20 and the rb. nissan will not go half assed on this motor .. heck its used on almost every nissan made.

and the stock internals of the vq35de do not withstand over 450hp.
but the block is strong as hell and has supported over 600whp already on z's. there is a guy locally who is planning on running 750whp with 9.1:1 compression and internals on his Z.

either way the skyline gtr will be insane and they have big shoes to fill b/c of the competition out there now and they have to make the gtr better than the last.
