Well I finally got around to doing a complete tear down of my blown motor. To my suprise I found all the intact connecting rods to be bent, quite badly. What is really strange is the fact all the cylinder walls are in perfect condition, virtually no scoring whatsoever. The bearings are perfect, I mean I seriously beat the living crap out of this thing, hardly ever let it warm up before I beat the snot out of it and rod bearings are in perfect condition. If not for the connecting rod wrapped around the crankshaft, I wouldn't think twice about using it again. The journals have no marks or scoring at all. If it weren't for the holes in the sides I would use the block again also.

Pics. of destruction? Sure!!

Might want to find the button on your camera for doing the closeups. Little flower looking thing...

And get some pics of the block, those are the best!

Well done lad! Proper way to punish that FS.

I had the same, minus a whole in the block.

I'm wondering if they all bent at once or if they gradually bent. It's not like any hit the head or anything.

Well I already installed my spare motor. A P5 w/17k. on it. This one ran a 13.8 @ 8-10psi on stock tires at englishtown (last month?).

This winter Focus forces me to build another.... Thats all I have to say for now.
