We've all seen the plastic/rubber/aluminum pedals available from Mazda USA, well I didn't like the fact that there was no matching dead pedal and that there was a lot of plastic. So I looked at what Mazda Japan had available, and hooray! They had 100% aluminum pedals that were a full set of 3! (rei)
Deciding that I did NOT want to pay the $114 + s/h from japanparts.com for these pedals, I found a seller on Ebay who seems them for well under half that price. They are "OE-Style" meaning they look the same, but don't have any of the official Mazda branding on them, so the term "replica" applies.
Regardless, even with japanese instructions and differences in the pedals themselves b/w what the instructions show and what is really on the car, the install is pretty easy. Because of the way the bar is mounted to the brake pedal, I could only use a single screw, but with that tightened down I couldn't move it at all with both my hands trying to dislodge it. (The left screw is holding it in, the right one is just there for decoration)
I had to drill these in, but don't let that stop you. I might have liked a larger dead-pedal, but this works for now.
Comments/questions welcome, I can't wait to see how these look with the footwell neons.
FYI: As far as I have been able to see, these are NOT available for MT folks.
(seller of the pedals was "hk_plus" for those that want to know.)
