I woke up my entier nieghborhood this morning or should I say my car did. The cars alarm went (screwy) (crazy) this morning as I went to start it, honking like a savage monkey and driving me up a f***en wall. The alarm must have a safegaurd that kills the starter cause the car was screaming but it wouldn't turn on. After a while the car stoped screaming and I managed to kick start the biatch and drove right to mazda, those jack-offs didn't even want to give me a car while they checked mine ((fu) mazda)

So has anyone else's alarm go nuts on them or am I the pionier of this s***!

LOTS of problems with the alarm. If it keeps happening, get Mazda to replace the module. I've had mine done twice.

Mine goes nuts every now and again. I have the sensitivity turned down to the lowest.

Same thing happened to me.

Aricjm15: if it goes off

hit LOCK twice on the remote then hit UNLOCK and it will allow you to start the car

I hear ya brother but when the module goes the remote has nowhere to be recived and therefor dosn't work (well thats what those morons told me at mazda)

***update***
So after spending my day at Mazda (my boss loves me for that) the module was replaced but but but they ****** up the wires that control the lighting on my gauges, so I have to go back at some point and have them fix their ****-up. Also the told me that my disks where warpped and they needed replacement......fun.

I had my alarm control module replaced. If you search you'll see it is a common problem. My lights would stay on after arming the alarm. Sometimes it would go off while driving.

yeah, my alarm at lowest sensitivty used to go off when a butterfly farted a mile away, and it wouldn't go honk honk honk honk like a normal alarm...no, it would go hoooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, it once went off for two hours in a parking lot..I came out to hear, somone bitching about it, and a nice dent in my fender...I dunno, can't wait to have $$$ to get a real alarm

mine goes off like a b****. I was surprised the battery hasn't died on me yet cause of it. This dumbass on base likes to park beside me everyday and make comments about my alarm went off again. Like his speakers are good. Its just that it goes off on anything. A saturns exhaust can set it off. haha. That guy is a tool :)

I wanna blow up my dealership (blowup)

I brought my car back to mazda and what do you know my radio is ****** and the have to order a replacement, I hate you mazda.

I owned an Impreza and never had anything close to this many problems

check this ish out.

Mine goes off when my cell phone is in the cupholder and it rings... no lie honest truth! Figuring that out sucked, one night before school i had to sleep with my keys in my hand to turn that sucker off every like 10 minutes because the phone kept beeping "missed call" w/e, dam alarms. MSP rocks, periferals suck, i'd trade my alarm for cruise control any day.

...I'm not a genius by any means but um, why didn't you just take the phone out of the cupholder when you're not in the car.

That and if you newer guys would read the "Common Problems" sticky, you'd see this is a widely known issue and you'd also realize how you can resolve it.

So, it's
a) your dealership's fault because they stocked the car and now are servicing it.
b) Mazda's fault because the Kenwood (read: aftermarket) headunit messes up and
c) again Mazda's fault because your Impreza didn't have it's own fair share of issues (which I find VERY hard to believe from reading Subaru forums)

Many of you bought your cars after this section on this forum became popular and busy, and therefore had a chance to do the research using not only this forum but the other information that can be found by google. Yet some of you didn't and then b**** about it all.

I used to b**** about all of the quirks about my MSP but that was quite a while back. I then started tearing my car apart to do things and realized a door squeak or an ungrounded radio were very small "issues", if issues at all.

Due to members having accounts here, I'm led to believe a lot of you bought this car with interest in modifying or changing the car in some way. You can never expect a "tuner" car to perform perfectly 100% of the time, regardless of component selection. Hell, you can't even expect a stock family car to run 100% pefectly every time, which is one reason why warranties do run out.

Instead of coming on here and becoming yet another member that has to vent about the same issue as hundreds of others have, read stickies, learn about the car, learn how to do things and fix them yourself.

Is it Mazda's fault? Maybe so. Although, maybe it's not. Mazda produced an EXCEPTIONAL all around car. More than any one of us can do. You bought the car for some reason. Go think about that reason and instead of bitching, fall in love again. Go put your own time in to fixing the radio or the clunk or the alarm. You'll love your car that much more, I promise.

Just gotta take initiative.

Don't bash mazda for having and alarm problem. If you think mazda is bad, try working for GM. Any because I work for GM, that is why I bought mazda. No matter what car you have, something is going to go wrong becuase of all the moving parts and electronics. If there was a perfect car out there then that'd be the only manufacturer left. The amount of engines, modules, weather strippings, warpped panels, shafts and so on, that we replace for gm and chrylser/mopar are rediculous. Chrysler is having problems with the inside of the rims corroding and tires going flat. NOT covered under warranty. So be happy you have a mazda. I am.
