Installed: DG Ram Air Hood

The install wasn't too bad as a couple of mods where required here and there.
In the following pic's the people with eagle eyes will notice the gasket required to seal the air box to the hood is missing. Dg forgot to include it in the package. It should be here shortly. Enjoy.....

i always loved that hood.

but at the same time, i never really saw the practical purpose of ram air on our cars, turbo or not.

How do u handle it when it rains?

In one of the pic's I put up you will see a CF baffle over the air filter. This baffle deflects the rain into the bucket past the air filter. The bucket itself has holes in the bottom to let the water drain away.

How do u handle it when it rains?

As for performance, it is a little better then then Injen setup I have. I feel it's a bit more responsive on the throttle and my gas mileage should be better (next fill up is l8tr on today)

Just a word here, I had fitment issues with my air box. I had to leave the rubber cushioning/seal out or the hood wouldn't close. I also had to cut the box a little just to keep the hood from bending it slowly when closed.

Secondly, did you paint your box? I painted mine black like yours but it didn't come like that.

No the box I got was black. I had fitment issues as well. Had to cut the pipe with the carb sticker on it to get it all too fit properly.

Did you cut the end going into the MAF? I wanted to cut it because its clear that its not made to fit with DGM's box. I just shaved part of the hole in the box so it wasn't rubbing sooo badly.

Yes I did cut the end going into the MAF. Also used only one screw to mount the box to the bracket to allow for some further flexability. I left bolt loose and used threadlock.
