Finished prototyping my CAI today, I plan on havine the pieces made from powdercoated aluminum soon. It sure made a big difference in the responsiveness of the car.

Although, maybe too responsive, I got my first MSP speeding ticket today on Hwy 217, 77 in a 55, I swear I was going with the flow!

There goes my insurance.

that looks good man. maybe you can talk DGM to make one out of carbon fiber. that would be pretty sweet and very JDM looking. good job

exactly why I didnt get orange...
just asking for tickets.

Did you use a conical filter? Probably a stupid question, but I'm just curious. Look clean by the way.

122 vega.
that custom intake looks really good! But how far does the filter go to? I don't see it in those pictures, but maybe you can describe to me if the filter goes down into the hole or not?
I like that heat sheild that they designed...looks really good! (thumb)

"They" is me, I designed and built it. I am considering carbon fiber, but the tubing will be aluminum. The filter is a K&N cone, I will get pics tomorrow of how it attaches. It does not go down the hole, too much rain here and it gets cold enough air from being boxed in around the hole.

Any GTech results from the CAI mod?

Yea, 217 is too heavily patrolled. Try going up Cooper Mountain road. Real steep, keeps your speed down while it really loads the engine. Watch out for rich people getting po'ed at you, though. One phone call and they can have the cops out there right away.

What did you use for the piping? Did you just get that piping from a hardware store with the perfect bend and just stuck it on?
please share with us ho you did....i don't mind doing that too for now......

From the pics it looks like PVC Plumbing couplers, available at any hardware store for about $5. Once he gets the aluminum or mild-steel pipes in there it will look much better. I plan on utilizing the same location but moving the filter down into that hole. Unless Injen finally e-mails me back about getting the prototype system.
