Okay so as aways I couldt sleep lastnight, so I figurd id be prductive atleast. So I broke open my spiffy new can of Edead V3 paint-on sound deadening.

I already had some sound deadening done, but the plastic rattle was getting annoying, and I've wanted to legitimately do my doors for awhile. I've seen some ppl mention that the black "dimples" do help keep rolled down windows form rattling, so I figured I'd find a way to leave them intact.

Anyway, the V3 is pretty cool stuff. kinda a strange consistency, but once you get a method figured out, it goes up FAST... Basically, you sortof "slap" it on, and smooth it around, trying to brush it on only smears it off of your surface... I coated the upper parts of my door (above the side-impact beam) and then put an extra layer ontop of my normal eDead for the hell of it. WHile I was at it, I figured I might as well do my doorpanel as well. Notsure if it'll do anything, but hey, The eD guys did it to their GTI, so Why not?

nice. thats the same deadener that im planning on getting. have you had time to test it out yet?

Took a quick spin around the block. soudns damn good, between that and the full skin-replacement instead of plastic rattles.... If you do get v3, look at the icix ED forum for the "group buy" it'll save you like $20 or more.

Okay, a bit more "testing" Cranked my stereo and opped outside of my car... Pass side that I did is audibly quieter, and has a "muted" sound while the driver's side that's only got the 2layers of v1 on the bottomhas noticeably more sound comng through. and it sounds a bit "echoey" And on an even cooler note. I haven't done anyhting to my rear doors yet, and I'd re-hookedup my stock speakers last tiem I was messing with my deck... the stock speakers running off of deck power had moresound coming through the doors than my 5x7 kappa's with about 180w each (measured) On my driver's side, it was close to the same, but pass side, the front was difficult to hear over the rear. That's how I could really judge that the smurfing was working.

I was just realizing, though howmuch it sucks that I did all the deadening and I'm likely gonna make kicks for my new speakers *L* ohwell.

i've had the v.3 on one of my rear doors for a while now, and i compared it to the cascade vb-1 which is a paste deadener. the v.3 went on easier, more consistant, and covered more than the cascade. cascade has 2 types, paint on paste and spray on liquid. the v.3 can be used as either;) i HIGHLY recomend it:)
