did you install the bulbs? and if so, how bright are they?

Does anyone know of anything with either hacking the DVD player for GPS to play DVD's on the screen and actually make it a DVD video player? I've heard of people doing this with toyota's and nissan etc. and making the dvd players play DVDs. Thanks!
