Alright tried it, the car did everything it was supposed to but the remote still doesn't work. It has a brand new battery in it, think I did something wrong or do I need a new remote?

Replacing the waste gate really isn't that hard. My husband went from underneath to get the old one off and the new one on while I stood from above and helf everything in place for him. (you have to stretch things a bit to get the new one in since its so taught) Took us bout 1/2 hour to do that...

Yeah I hear ya on that one! I'm on a scavenger hunt myself for a few tiny parts. God knows you'll never find one of these cars at a local junk yard with the part you need! Maybe someone can just mod the blah protege diecast, ya know, like Callaway did with the blah protege!?
