    Mazda Protege Owner Photos

No photos from me as I still need to do work on my ride and it's winter time (-30 today!), but I am looking to pick up some new rims this summer. I was looking at the Tenzo R DC-6 bronze for my 02 mice green protege LX. What do you guys think of the look? Finding wheels to match the mica green...

    Rishie's FITMENT RECIPE

So, I'm super retarded when it comes to wheels, here's my question: Looking at 17x7 40mm offset for my 2002 protege LX. Stock right height. Any problems? I plan to lower it maybe 1"-1.5" in the future as well, will that cause any issues?

Pic request: stock height 3rd Gen protege with 17" rims

Hello, I am looking for a new tire/rim combo this summer, I need to retire my current steelies to winter only driving. I have almost no work done on the protege and I was trying to find out what 17s would look like on stock height. I can't really lower the car too much because we get a ton of...

What have you done to your Protege today?

I installed my first powered sub last night into my 2002 Protege LX. It actually works! I'm super excited. Next on my list of things is... 1) Rims/Tires for summer (running on steelies right now, have been for the last 4 years LOL) 2) New speakers 3) Fog lights installed That's really it for...

Remote turn on lead for powered subwoofer

Woot! I got it working! It was a blown inline fuse. Just replaced it and it started working. I guess the fuse blew when I connected the power wire to the battery the first time. I had the fuse already in place before I connected to the + terminal on the battery. The instructions said to not do...

Not exactly audio, but relevant (re: Door Sills/Wiring)

Whoa, I actually got it all working tonight! I had a blown fuse at the inline holder, just replaced it with a new 30 amp and I was set! Super sweet. So for this sub, there are high level speaker inputs as well as RCA inputs. The auto mode only works when you connect the HU and the sub via high...

Not exactly audio, but relevant (re: Door Sills/Wiring)

This ended up becoming a non issue as the crutchfield tech told me that if I use RCA to connect my HU to my sub, the auto option won't work. So I ended up having to wire the remote wire anyways.

Remote turn on lead for powered subwoofer

Yah, later this week I'm going to test all the connections to make sure. There's so many places for potential problems because I'm a noob lol.

Remote turn on lead for powered subwoofer

I actually think I blew a fuse. When I first hooked it all up, the power light flashed on really quickly, than faded out. It hasn't powered on since then. I will be testing all my connections tomorrow, hopefully it's as simple as changing the fuse. I guess the question I have is, what size fuse...

Remote turn on lead for powered subwoofer

Gave the install a shot today. Didn't work, not sure why. Gonna try again tomorrow. =(.

Remote turn on lead for powered subwoofer

Hey guys, Very noob question for my first audio install: I bought the Sound Ordnance B-8PT powered sub, and there are 2 power options: Auto Mode and Remote Wire. What's better? The auto mode turnes the sub on where it detects a line level signal, and the remote mode requires me to wire the...

Not exactly audio, but relevant (re: Door Sills/Wiring)

Thanks for all the responses, I will give it a shot in the next couple days since my powered sub came in today! Also, another noobish question... I bought the Sound Ordnance B-8PT powered sub, and there are 2 power options: Auto Mode and Remote Wire. What's better? The auto mode turnes the sub...

So it's safe to just pull them straight up? There's no plastic locks or tabs to worry about breaking?

Not exactly audio, but relevant (re: Door Sills/Wiring)

Hello, I have recently purchased a new sub for my 2002 Mazda Protege, and in order to create that clean look, I want to run the wiring beneath the door trim. What is the most effective way of removing the door sills without damaging them? Also, I guess the secondary question is... where can I...

    Anyone in Edmonton Area?

Bumping to say whats up. Currently have a 2002 Protege LX. Looking to get started working on it and finding out as much information as I can. Look forward to making some local contacts. You can only learn so much on the internet =/. With that being said, does anyone know of reputable autobody...
