does anyone know if it is really neccesary to remove the exhaust manifold to install the mazda block heater?it is stated with instructions to remove it.

Hi everyone, i just purchased a mazda 3 sport, and it was used, its an 07 model, I am wondering where i can get the audio protection code, or if i even need the code before i disconnect the battery?Or can i change the code to my own code before i disconnects the battery?
