This is the car that keeps on giving gifts! By gifts I mean problems.. lol. One after another .. Just replaced my LSD, a new clutch assembly, belts and a water pump.. The car has a very rough idling and dips down and stalls after you've been driving it when you downshift or stop at a light...

LSD Failure 100,001 miles and my LSD went tits up. (stripper)

Specifically i'm looking for a trustworthy mech who can troubleshoot an over heating issue, and diagnose a CEL which im sure is tied to an idling issue. The most pressing issue right now is the damn thing is overheating and i dont have time to fix it myself.. Buller, Buller?

Ok i'm in the process of getting at the EGR. those two bolts on it are at a tough angle but once i get it out we shall .. thanks for the guides

You guys are always such a help. Seriously. top notch. So yeah, no separate filter per-say.. they sell the "bag" with the pump at autozone for over 130.. fyi. I am at 93k miles .. So after reading a bunch more im going to try the EGR cleaning guide.. It really really sounds like a buildup...

I have not cleaned the EGR. is there any how tos for that on here? I did new coils, wiring and plugs recently and a new air filter..

2003.5 MSP .. yadda yadda.. I'm thinking i need to replace my fuel filter as the car is idling itself so low it turns right off when my foot is not on the gas.. Is there any how to guides on here, or anything special with the msp vs the regular 2003 protege i should be aware of ..

Once again you guys rock. The fix was to clean the terminal cables and reseed the battery and make sure it was DAMN tight. i then had to reset the alarm a few times and she is up. Glad I didnt get that alternator afterall..(boobs) Thanks guys, you saved me some bucks..

Would you expect with a bad battery only but a good alternator that when i hook up the new battery for the first time and try to turn the car over if i get headlights i should be able to get some kind of crank sound when i try and turn her over? Instead it just fades away like in one second i...

The negative terminal connector was dirty and i cleaned it.. the weird thing is when i unseed the cable and reseed it on the new battery, the power in the car is just fine as can be.. like a new battery.. which it is. to be clear, i drove my other car to get this battery. this car has not...
