I don't think it's a glitch, Every new car I have driven since 2012 locks out the fob buttons while the engine is running, Subaru, Mazda, Hyundai and Nissan. Hell, even my 98 Taurus with keyless entry disabled the fob when the engine is running.

I would double check the fuse, then put it in reverse and check for voltage at the reverse lights with either a multimeter or just use a test light. If you have no voltage at the reverse lights it is probably the gear position sensor which is probably located on the transmission. I googled and...

Hard to tell from that picture, but i would suspect that your dome light has a 3-way switch (off-auto-on) and therefore on that 3 wire plug there is 1 ground wire, 1 auto(door on wire) and one always on wire. You could either use a multi-meter to figure out which is which and solder pig tails...
