Cx5 NA head cracks…ever figure out which ones affected?

Appreciate the input. Called the service manager at local Mazda dealer (good guy that used to be my SA at Cadillac, then at Mazda with our previous cx5 4+ years ago) and he stated that cx5 cylinder head issues were quite rare, and he could probably count on both hands the number they’ve done...

Cx5 NA head cracks…ever figure out which ones affected?

Back after about 4 years. Previously had a ‘19 cx5 touring that we loved, but sold it for a larger vehicle for the family. Fast forward a few years and need to find first car for my daughter. Am contemplating buying back our well maintained 2019 (current owners have had zero troubles from 45k...

Difference between 2017 CX-5 and later models?

Perfect thanks! Only looking to add factory wired CarPlay if not already installed, as it worked beautifully on our previous 2019.

Difference between 2017 CX-5 and later models?

Thanks…aware of CD and all that junk, which is why we want a 2017. I wouldn’t have minded another CD car (our previous one had no trouble) if it weren’t for cracked cylinder heads popping up. What is the belt tensioner issue? Is it specific for 2017 models or continued with later ones? Reading...

Difference between 2017 CX-5 and later models?

Looking to purchase a 2017 GT w/premium package in the next few months for my daughter. Other than the following, how does the 2017 model differ from 2018/2019? No cylinder deactivation Different climate control panel Anything else? We previously had a 2019 touring (which we loved) but sold it...

Driver seat memory on 2017 CX-5 GT?

Do 2017 grand touring models come with driver seat memory? We used to have a ‘19 touring and wished we had memory settings, which I though came in grand touring models. Saw a ‘17 GT at a dealer the other day and was surprised to not see any seat memory buttons. Were they optional or even...

    Disable Cylinder Deactivation

lol perhaps, or you could just be imagining things. Sounds more like torque converter lockup to me

What did you pay for your CX-5?

A “good” deal (not great) would be 10% of msrp minus rebates. So if the car is 33k msrp, I’d want at least 3k off and then another 1250 rebate before fees. So yeah I’d say you should be able to do better.

    Disable Cylinder Deactivation

Same here...I haven’t been able to tell and I’ve tried. Wish our ‘19 had the display that shows when CD active like the later cars. If nobody told me about the CD, I’d never know our cx5 had it.

2017~2025 Rear Door bent, doesn't close fully. Repairs, what to expect?

Yup, file a claim. And if your rate goes up a little at renewal, raising deductible will counteract the increase.

Dangerous cylinder deactivation trouble on 2018 CX-5 and Mazda6 models

‘19 touring that got CD software update around 6k...now at 39k miles. No problems at all. Enjoy your new car!

    2017~2025 AWD versus FWD

To answer OP, awd model has a shorter final drive. So higher rpm for same speed/gear as fwd, and therefore more engine braking.

Simplified. What percentage off the CX-5 sticker?

Generally, 10% off sticker minus any incentives is a really good deal

    Show me your CX-5 wheels

Love the clean 5 spoke look of the pf05...just couldn’t bring myself to spend the dough and went with rx8’s. Great choice!
