I was leaning towards the kicker also; however, I was concerned about the 100Hz frequency response max compared to the 250Hz of the JL Audio. Would it make a realistic difference considering the Bose "system" would still be installed?

i doubt that's possible. The only way that it could be possible is if, and only if, the sum of the teeth on the input shaft gear plus the number of teeth on the output shaft gear remained the same between gen1 and gen2. either way - in order to get the gear set w/o spending a lot of $$$...

the intercooler should be a give away if $300 installed is parts and labor - ya, I'd let the dealer do it. You'd be lucky to buy a new one for under $300 and then you'd still have to install or pay the dealer to install
