Ugh, that's just not cool... I guess mazda didn't figure people who paid 4k for the TECHNOLOGY package would be interested in an iPod player slot? (ughdance)

I was also pretty bent about this. I think the lockout is going too far. My passenger should be able to operate the nav while the vehicle is in motion.

Looks like it's finally coming. And from Apple no less. Can't get any better news than that.

My guess is it there is an extra proprietary input interface on the back of the unit that can be plugged in here. Up until now, many iPod or AUX mods made use of the Satelite input to function. It looks like Mazda has gotten smart and added a media input for 3rd party mod makers to use instead...
