18s shouldn't be any taller than 17s if the proper size rubber is mated with the wheels. If the ratio is broken, then yes, the 18s would be taller, along with your speedometer being slightly off.

I guess the Injen filter is okay then. My brother lives of life of convience and that is why I needed to know if the filter would be a problem. He would *not* give up his carwash.

I don't know about "submerged", but the filter may get soaked. Is that something to be concerned about?
