M5 roof rails? Why not N. America?

me too. I don't like having a rail system for one car and needing a separate Yakima or Thule base system for the 5, but I'm also not going to spend double the cost of a complete system just to make my existing rail system work. Crud. Shame on Mazda for making this so expensive for us!

Bluetooth in a non GT model

I am interested in this same mod. I doubt that the parts are "there" and just need to be activated. More likely, you'd need to add at least a module and a harness (and the button?) Anyway, I'll be researching this...hopefully someone comes up with something simple. If not, I'll go...

    DEI 545T Auto-On Headlight kit

Too bad I didn't spring for the GT. I've got an 08 Touring. I'll assume it's not an easy retrofit, since Canadian 5's at least got DRL and they're supposedly not very easy to retrofit to US models.

Headlights and Taillights on with Ignition?

Thanks! This is great. You guys are excellent. I'll check out radio shack. I'm also considering using the DEI Nite-Lite kit and just leaving out the photocell, completing the circuit. I'm sure there are easier ways, now that I can look at the diagrams. Thanks again Protege_Kid!

    DEI 545T Auto-On Headlight kit

I know this is an old post, but did you ever end up installing this?

Headlights and Taillights on with Ignition?

Okay, even not plug-and-play. Anyone? A DIY writeup or something? I guess I could go through Volvo wiring diagrams and compare them to the 5. Anyone have Mazda 5 ignition / headlight circuit diagrams posted somewhere?

Headlights and Taillights on with Ignition?

Hi All, I searched and found a few threads about Daytime Running Lights but I'm looking for something "plug and play" that would turn on the Mazda5 headlights and taillights when I start the car. It would behave as though the lights were on unless I turned the switch to only the middle...

M5 roof rails? Why not N. America?

Okay, here's my contribution...I found most of the parts. See email below: It actually sounds like a really good deal but a little steep for me right now. About $700 shipped. I'm sure the 2 'nuts' they don't have are basic metric nuts so not a big deal. I hope it helps someone. I've gotta...

M5 roof rails? Why not N. America?

Indeed! (second) Seriously, Michael, if you are taking this on, I'm in for helping with research. I don't see it being cheap, since all the 'little parts' will need to be sourced but I think we can make it happen. I'll be getting a set once the research is done and I'll make them fit...

M5 roof rails? Why not N. America?

I want these, too. I can't imagine why they wouldn't bolt into the same mounting points as the crazy crossbars. When I've put euro-rails on my Volvos, they used these points (one bolt up front, one closer to the back) on each rail. red headz, you have to do this!
