Turns out it's impossible to remove the cover without removing the belts and crank pulley. I did manage to find out that the gasket was NOT holding the oil and all the leaking oil was just continuously pouring down the timing belt cover. I know this cuz I just let the car running and...

I will try to do that tomorrow, didn't have time today. Do I need to remove any belt (PS, A/C, Alternator) to remove the timing cover? Also, how long did you wait after installing the new gasket till you turned your engine on. I waited around 1 hour or so, maybe more time needs to be allowed...

I need help. I changed the gasket and didn't put the sealant on so a lot of oil leaked into the timing belt section and down to the floor. I took it apart again, cleaned it all up and added Permatex Gasket sealant to the areas you pointed out. After I put it all together, I waited for a while...

It was the bump stop that got torn apart. Alignment was done, and the edge of the round body part that goes around the wheel was a little dented (you could tell the tire hit it).

I am having an issue with my rear passenger side strut. Every time I make a hard left turn, my tire scrapes the edge of the car's body. I changed the strut but it is still happening. Any insights on this? Are the pink stops inside the acordeon plastic over the strut absolutely necessary...

I've got the driver door for a 1999 protege. It's electric, dark green and has everything a door is supposed to have. I took it apart to sell by parts but the buyer retracted. If needed it can be reassembled easily. Only scrape (no dent) is under the handle from a shopping cart.

What are these doughnut gaskets you mention? Is the metal gasket on top of the converter the same as an "exhaust flange gasket" which you can buy in advance autoparts or autozone?
