    Transfer Case - 4WD Issues

Appears as though ours has died a second time. I think our first was replaced around 70-75k miles? That was under the extended warranty; I know I posted on here somewhere, maybe on this thread, about how I was gonna sell it after the first replacement... but the wife wanted to keep it. So here...

2007~2015 High mileage and parts breaking?

i did the plugs at 110k miles or so. they looked fine; i think i posted my experience on here. no need to do "wires" in modern vehicles with coil on plugs. the rears were tough to get to but just takes patience and the right extensions. we are at 145k miles now. PTU was replaced under...

Plenty of used Mazda Key Fobs on eBay for $60 shipped.

16-17 owners ... what warranty work have you needed?

"warping" can also be caused by the over-torquing of wheel lug nuts and i would put my money on it being the most common reason. i am actually impressed that my local discount tire store using torque wrenches to finish mounting wheels. if i take my vehicles anywhere i can't see the tires being...

Consumer Reports Headlights rating 2/5 for 2016+ CX-9

you probably know this but the previous generation cx-9 headlights can be moved down for instances where you are towing. at least my '11 with the HID lights have this option. maybe yours got moved down at some point...

4WD System High Load = Tomfoolery Detected... Thoughts on the CX-9 in the snow.

that was better than i could do with our 2011 a couple years ago in an empty lot. turned traction control off but it quickly comes back on over an indicated (thinks its going) 15-20 mph or something and shut down the fun. i was able to get a little bit more fun in reverse.

Consumer Reports Headlights rating 2/5 for 2016+ CX-9

i had a 2002 Protege5 bought new. it had great headlights; with just the low beams i would get flashed from on-coming traffic occasionally. our 2011 CX-9 HID headlights are great. i have the optional LED headlights on my 2017 Ford Fusion, they look great cosmetically but functionally i feel...

2007~2015 How to get to the CX-9 spark plugs?

Sorry for very late reply; hopefully you'll see it. I moved it and got both sides; as well as I could. That spring is pretty strong. I think I propped it open at one point.

2007~2015 How to get to the CX-9 spark plugs?

Found Youtube Video; helped a lot... Found this video on Youtube and it was a huge help. Got stuck trying to figure out how to remove that damn intake manifold; couldn't decipher what screw(s) I was missing! https://youtu.be/gPZrjQY0g5E I finally did the plugs around 118k miles. It being my...

How long will you keep your 2012 CX-9 GT FWD

Good to know. Still, we have had zero out of pocket repairs (other than maintenance) in 70k miles. If we have to spend $1800 I am cool with that. Also, there is a difference between known issues and common issues. Common issues are known, but known issues may not necessarily be common. I have...

How long will you keep your 2012 CX-9 GT FWD

we have a 2011 that just turned over 100k miles. we had our transfer case replaced around 80k miles under warranty, but as previously stated, not an issue for you. other than that i have replaced the rear shocks (right side was starting to leak)around 95k miles. i need to do the front struts...

    Transfer case concerns

the extended warranty only went to 90k miles. i would be worried. it won't leave you stranded but it is a definite weak point and as far as I can tell the new transfer case is not an updated version. i towed once with ours, a dump trailer probably no more than 2k lbs. ours started to leak...

    Tie Rod end

i used moog on my ranger. i also just wacked it with a mallet or hammer. i also like the grease fitting.

New rear shocks installed. Pics. Went with KYB 349070

I did. Looks like you ended up doing the same. After all the work of taking everything else apart, I figured why not???? At that point I was in it to win it and didn't want to take the chance of breaking anything. Now I am getting ready to do the front struts... never done struts before.

Look what came in the mail... (rotors / pads)

Very thorough job. i am impressed by your dedication. I'm just going to throw some pads on the rear some time this coming week. I'll definitely clean/lube the sliding pins though. Have to be the original pads/rotors with 94k miles and not much left on the pads. But there is no visible lip or...
