I*ve wanted to do the same thing but no options I*ve found. I*m not sure if any of the aftermarket tweaks could do it, not sure how easy it is to manipulate what the HUD shows.
Bro and I installed the CarPlay/AA kit. Was cool for me since I*d never done anything more than changing headlights before. Only had one issue, when we were putting the head unit back in ended up dropping one of the bolts and it fell down the air vent. Oops. Luckily ran up to the hardware store...
I say go for it. When I got mine I wasnt looking at one for the premium package but the dealership only had prem. pack with the color I wanted so they gave me a sweet deal. And first I thought the HUD would just be gimmicky but I love it now, so so so awesome. The heated steering wheel is nice...
Anyone else notice the updated commander knob and that surrounding area? Im guessing its not the fabled Mazda Connect 2 or they wouldve made a bigger deal about it. I cant find anything right now till they reveal some more info.
In response to your question about the lift gate. You can open it, just have to unlock the car first. Im guessing its a safety thing, I had the same issue when I first got mine.
What all tools did you need for this? The instructions pdf lists torque wrench, ratchet, socket wrench, phillips and flat head screwdriver but all I could tell in your video was screwdriver and ratchet. Just want to make sure I have everything I need before I get halfway through taking...
Not sure what iOS version you were on before but this is just something the iPhone does when it connects to your car. It's been like that at least since iOS 11, probably before. For me it will tell me how long to get to work, or an event if its in my calendar, etc.
I guess I should have clarified that I meant keeping it clear while driving. Even if I wipe it off when I get in the car it'll have water drops all over by the time I get to my destination.
Do y'all have any tips for keeping the backup camera clean/unobscured? Mainly talking about during/after the rain, it get water droplets all over it and it's not really usable until you get right up on something. It's been suggested that I put some RainX on it but wondered if you guys have done...
Yeah I highly doubt it, just thinking it'd be super unfair to make it free for 2018 and not 2017 when it's the same. But I'll be interested to see the video, that may determine if I DIY it or wait till I can bring it in to the dealer. I like to tinker but also worried I may irreversibly mess...
