also it is a ported box should i maybe seal it i have an adapter for the box to make its sealed?

after hooking up my sub and amp it sounds like crap. should i run the bass boost or not. Maybe it sounds different than in my extended cab ranger because its in the trunk. what should i do with the crossover? any suggestions thanks
