I know there are many threads onchecking engine oil but I'm still not clear on this. Can you check the engine oil level on a cold engine as in days of yore?

The retracting mirrors have been a pain in the neck in my car since about a year after I bought it. I've evenn replaced the the driver side and its still hit and miss.

Actually it was without manual mode when I started the car in the morning. Temp about fifty five or sixty degrees and humidity eighty or eighty five percent so certainly not overheated fluid. I think I recall it happening once before a long time back.

I find I cant open the lift gate with the dash button when sitting in the car with the engine running and transmission in park when doors are closed. If I open the door the button will activate the lift gate. I could swear that in the past I was able to. Whats going on?

Well it's obviously a continuing issue and I can't understand why with one replacement mirror already the issue can't be fixed.
