    2021 Vs. 2019-2020 CX-9

I REALLY like the color! You just don’t see it in my neck of the woods.

Has anyone done a DIY oil change on a 2.5T (turbo)?

2019 cx9 here and I suspect it’s the same. As others have said just a little extra lift via ramps or even a couple of planks you have laying around makes this an extremely easy job. 15 minute process unless you want to let it really drain. On mine the underbody shroud has a panel held in place...

2019 CX-5 signature first oil change - conventional or synthetic?

Same here only at a Toyota store. The “free“ tire rotation, oil and filter change only consisted of fresh oil in my new at the time tundra. I’ve always changed my own oil but I figured it’s free so why not. What’s bad is that they denied it. Lost my business at from that point forward. Love the...

    2016~2023 Folding mirrors misbehaving

Do you keep your fob in your pocket? When I do and I’m in range I’ve found the buttons are really easy to activate. More than once I’ve had the rear hatch to open and/or the doors lock simply from squatting down or laying on the couch. May or may not be your problem but thought I’d throw it out...

    2016 CX-5 engine concerns

My 2 cents. Unless you notice anything unusual leave it and switch back at the next change. I’m sure there will be all kinds of debate on this but as long as it’s the same weight it should not present a problem. My opinion only. Some oils are better than others but I would bet that it would be...

    New 2020 CX-9, burning smell

Just how long have you had it? Ours smelled for the first 2-3 weeks most noticeable when parked in an enclosed space. In my case it was just the various coatings being burned off as the car went through the heat and cool cycles. I suspect yours is the same.

    Service Soon, but not really...

Go into your applications menu and scroll down to vehicle status monitor. Then go to maintenance. Go into scheduled. Then go into time. Adjust time to the number of months you desire. Don’t change distance. This should clear the nanny screen and you will still have the reminder for distance. In...

    2021 CX-9 Changes

The speedometer and odometer are user controlled by the push of a button. At least that’s the case for the GT/ Sig instrumentation. Really find it hard to believe Mazda would ship two versions to the NA market. But then what do I know?

    2016~2023 Turbo problems

On our 2019 I know from a late night encounter with a coyote that if the flow from the intercooler is disrupted the engine will not run. It will start and them immediately shut down. Had I known this at the time a roll of duct tape would have saved me a wrecker call. Still required a couple of...

Any Word on the 2020 CX-9 Changes?

If she wants the bench don’t settle. Salesman is probably just trying to sell what is in stock.

    CX-9 Driver Visibility

I absolutely agree on the seat adjustment. Mazda took a step backwards in that regard compared to the first generation. As you adjust it one way it moves it from a previously set position. It appears to be all tied together, not in a good way for my personal preferences.

How much oil *really* does 2016 Skyactiv 2.5G engine take?

2.5T. Dump 5 qt jug in crankcase and pre fill oil filter from spare qt. Puts it at top line and good to go. Did this on 3.7 as well when I had it. Get about 3 changes from the spare qt.

2016~2023 Anyone get seat cushions or covers for their Second Gen CX9?

My #1 complaint about the drivers seat. 2010 seat was fine. 2019 is too flat for my taste. After a year I’m getting accustomed to it but I sure wish there was a clean simple way to crank up the front lip. It seems that when you adjust the seat rearward the front can be raised somewhat but this...

2016~2023 Is the CX-9 "DIY" friendly?

Can only speak of oil changes. Very easy as long as you pull up on a couple of 2x’s. The extra 5 inches is priceless.
