Did you ever find a resolution to this problem? My 2017 CX-5 is doing the exact same thing. Not only do both my key fobs fail to unlock initially, but the keyless entry button on my door handle does not work either. Usually after spamming any of the 3 buttons (2 fobs and door button) 10-15 times...
