    Road Noise or Tire Noise?

There is always road noise, but much less so on nicely paved roads.

Vibration when braking and new rotors

Just returned from our two-week vacation in NS, NB and QC. Drove 5100 km in total. The Powerstop brakes have been great, even on famous Cabot Trail in rain and fog.(cool)

Buying advice now that Mazda5 all but discontinued

I bought mine with 79Kkm (just under 50Kmiles), ~13,000cad before tax. There was another one with 42Kkm, actually in worse condition than mine and a thousand more. I had my suspicions regarding such a low mileage. Looks like we finally have cheaper cars than american friends ;)

Buying advice now that Mazda5 all but discontinued

I have to agree with "old design" statement. That's why I did not see any benefit in buying brand-new Mazda5 and bought 4-year old 2012 after lease. Essentially half-price of a new one, same car. No complaints on fuel economy: so far 9.5litres/100km average, 7.8 on short highway trip. (For our...

    Krown rustproofing?

Thank you, I already got Krown and feel better now, after your comment. The only complaint: my driveway is now very oily. I guess it's normal with this kind of treatment.

    Krown rustproofing?

Having heard of Mazda vehicles being prone to rust, I am thinking of some kind of rustproofing. My mechanic recommended Krown (www.krown.com). Does it make sense at all? The car is already 4 years old and apparently no rustproofing was ever done. The car looks rusty underneath but no visible...

    Brand of oil?

I don't think we can have $40 0w20 oil change here in Canada. US- maybe, still pretty low price.

    Brand of oil?

I don't do it myself either, but I do care what to pour into my engine. Please, no more answers like "whatever dealer does".

    Brand of oil?

Which oil do you guys pour into your beloved Mazda5 (newer 2.5liter engine)? Is the usual 0W20 Mobil 1 is sufficient or better use something fancy like Liqui Moly? Thanks

Mazda5: Prices paid and related questions

Vibration when braking and new rotors

Ordered Powerstop non-drilled kit, part KOE5804 from Rockauto. Came to $162.97 shipped (+$10 pickup). Autoanything have them on 20% off, still $213.60 ;) Will report how good is it. Thanks to all who answered! UPDATE: Finally got the parts! It took my mechanic 3 hours to install them because...

Vibration when braking and new rotors

Thanks for a valuable insight! Is Powerstop a noname brand? I found stellar reviews at Amazon and elsewhere. I am now hesitating to choose between slotted-and-drilled version of Powerstop and basic one. Big difference in price but is there big difference in performance and reliability?

Vibration when braking and new rotors

The sale price was reduced because of brakes, thank you for asking. I looked at rockauto and there are tons of brands there. Which ones would you recommend? Somebody on this forum mentioned Powerstop - all pads and rotors kit - performance version for ~$300 shipped at rockauto and basic one for...

Vibration when braking and new rotors

Hello! I am new to this forum, and to Mazda vehicles, so please forgive my lack of knowledge. Just bought a 2012 Mazda5 (79K km) and there is a noticeable vibration when braking. Mechanic says that I probably need new rotors. Is there anything else I can do before making that major expense...
