Got it! A-shaped spring clip on LT/RT side. Use flat head to press it in towards center of car and clear of the headliner, then pull down tray from that side. Thanks!

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm new to mazda's and want to remove the maplight piece that also holds the s/r switch. Do I just pull harder?
