    "funny" key card story

That makes the most sense to me. If she turned it off at the airport, she wouldn't be able to turn it back on, so her best bet was to try to go get a new key right away.

    "funny" key card story

Oh, yes. If you have the "key card" thing, there is a knob to turn, but you don't put in a key. The knob is locked unless the key card is within 3 feet or so.

    "funny" key card story

CX-9 story from our dealer - I don't know the people but I heard about it - A lady dropped her husband off at the airport curbside. He left with the key card and she drove off. Oops. (Apparently the beeping eventually stopped?) She couldn't even turn the car off. She had to drive to the...

I'm guessing your username is a reference to Rush 2112. If so, sweet!

    rear fan/heat

An observation from my wife, from an experience back in May that I didn't hear about until now: Because of the location of the rear vents, when the kids use the rear fan controls to get hot air, lots of the heat goes right onto the passenger seat, giving her a proverbial "hot a**." Believe it...

    Oil Change

I usually go for 5000 in my wife's cars (mostly driven around town, including the CX-9). When I do mostly highway miles in my car (not the CX-9), the car computer calculates about 7500-8000 per oil change. 3000 is excessive these days, in my opinion. Waste of money and oil to dispose of.

Arcadia vs. Veracruz vs. CX-9 crossover comparison

One more thing - Our 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan was rock-solid to 60,000 miles, although there were a couple recalls. Our CX-9 needed a new CD changer after two weeks. So we'll see how the CX-9 turns out, knock on wood! Can't really say statistically without at least a few hundred vehicles of data.

Arcadia vs. Veracruz vs. CX-9 crossover comparison

Before we test drove anything, I was ready to buy the Outlook over the CX-9, based on specs. We liked the luggage room and REALLY liked the 2nd row captain's chairs and the access to the 3rd row. But then we went for a drive. Way too floaty and truck-like for me. Plus the interior plastic...

    Stupid iPod question....

You don't "own" the music on a CD. You have a license to the audio, and you can make a copy for personal use. If you no longer own the physical CD, you no longer have a license for your MP3 copy. It's illegal for the library and yourself to both have a copy of music that was only purchased...

    Stupid iPod question....

Not that I care, believe me, I really don't, but keeping MP3's of your CD's and then giving the CD's to the library is illegal.

I was disappointed with Consumer Reports review

I agree. Sorry Chico if I overgeneralized and offended you with my personal-history-based comment.

I was disappointed with Consumer Reports review

P.S. Chiro = 50% quackery. That % has improved over the last 20-30 years, but it's still darn high. SORRY, I HAD TO SAY IT. :-)

I was disappointed with Consumer Reports review

I'll chime in, hopefully without pissing anybody off... ;-) Ride and maneuverability - great (with 20"), although too much body roll. Styling - great. Isn't this the #1 reason people buy this thing? Price - good deal for the money, if you ask me. Mileage - poor - my wife gets about 17 in a mix...

I will have to sell the CX-9...

I also find the seats a bit uncomfortable (the leather seats - don't know what the cloth ones are like). I am 6", 190 lbs. with long legs. <-- no you can't have a pic, but thanks for asking ;-) I think seat comfort is a very individual thing that is hard to generalize. I find the driver seat...

What did you pay for your CX-9?

MSRP was 40,050 (I'm pretty sure that was it - within $100). Paid 38,100. April. As part of the negotation at this price, I did not pay any "document" or "processing" fees.
