Haha I know exactly what you mean — the “just in case” parts pile gets real with these cars.
Mine’s already a Mazdaspeed Protegé, so it already has the MSP suspension. I did consider grabbing them just to have another MSP-specific parts on hand, but I was trying to keep the ticket low. I mostly...
Junkyard Update – MSP Parts Run
Made another run to the yard today to see what I could pull off the Mazdaspeed Protegé.
At this point I already have a large portion of the MSP-specific parts, so a lot of what was still on the car would have just been duplicates (Not saying that's a bad thing)...
I actually have most of the MSP-specific pieces already, so a lot of that stuff would just end up being duplicates for me.
I did scoop the sub box with the original MSP woofer and amp facebook find, so that part is already covered. I also already have better OEM seat covers and all of the...
Oh man, they really are a blessing lol. That was actually my first big junkyard pull.
Unfortunately that was my only free day. If I can get back next weekend, I’m bringing a stronger impact and finishing the job. I definitely made it too easy for the next guy.
And you’re right, you’ve gotta be...
A nice update and a super score at the junkyard.
I was honestly getting tired of the search for another transmission and started reconsidering just building the one I already have. Decided to check the local yards to see if maybe an MSP popped up… and sure enough, there was one 15 minutes from...
Fuel System Plan – Return Style Conversion w/ Jay Racing Rail
Since I did the whole post about my thought process on Boost Controllers and how I decided. I thought I would put this here also. Keeps the thread alive and keeps me planning and buying parts.
Since I’m running the Jay Racing rail...
Man I appreciate that.
I agree, with a good LSD and clutch the trans shouldn’t be the wet noodle people make it out to be. I just know these G-series boxes don’t love shock load, so I’m trying to build around smooth torque instead of just sending it. Maybe I’m overthinking it a little, but I...
Boost Controller Decision – Greddy vs Boost Leash
Alright, this is going to be a long one. I’ve been really thinking through boost control on this build, and I figured I’d write it out instead of just bouncing ideas around in my own head. Maybe it helps someone else going down the same path...
Ten years collecting parts and knowledge is no joke. That’s real dedication. Life definitely has a way of shifting plans on us, but the pivot always seems to end up being the right move.
Appreciate the love on the Mazda. This “new heart” has been a long time coming for sure.
And trust me… when...
Man… today was a good day. Got myself a birthday present and it showed up, lol.
Fedex just dropped it 30mins early and said peace 😆...I was watching that package like a hawk at work.
Honestly… I couldn’t have found a better person to buy this from.
No games.
No weird energy.
No “trust me...
Man… it’s been way too long since my last update. Life has been busy as hell and this build is moving much slower than I ever planned. Definitely thought I’d be further along by now, but here we are.
Lately I’ve been bouncing between finishing up the SSAFC wiring and getting the wideband O₂...
Man oh man, so happy I got this to add to the build. Scooped up this Boundary Pump fast. The gears are also coated. Cleaned her up a bit on the front and backside.
