Thanks for the reply. I decided to go with the monster Thule 2100 box and to be safe the Thule podiums for extra peace of mind ( 165 lb rating with this setup). I hope it doesn't look to ridiculous, though! I'll post pics for others to see.

Thanks for the update. How much of a load have you been putting up there? Have you been careful to not exceed the "100lb limit" on the factory rails?

Did anybody find out if we can safely go over the 100lb limit using Mont/Thule/Yak cross bars?

Do you mean the Thule Atlantis 2100? I'm looking at this box because it's Thule's largest but am wondering how it would look/fit on the CX9.

How does the perimeter alarm that comes with the GTs work? Is this one of those alarms that makes a sound whenever someone comes close distance to the vehicle?

I'm looking for a GT under 30K (before TTL- I'm in Long Beach, CA). I can find 2008's in this price range but am thinking that, if I hold off for a bit longer (til the 2010s arrive), I could get a 2009 for this price. Thank you in advanced for your thoughts and ideas. (band)
