Good point. But then just to be clear, the JVC linked to above by Rush easily puts out as much wattage as the stock sytem, right? I would like to first change the head unit in my car, mosty so I get a clock and iphone compatability, and then I can assess whether I need to consider and amplifier...

Does anyone know the specs of these stock sound systems? I've looked through the owner's manual and online, and I can't seem to find that information. Specifically, I'd like to know how many watts the head unit puts out, and if there's a separate amplifier in these cars, or if it's in the head...

Yeah, I've already been in touch with the Attorney General's office, as well as my state's Lemon Law Unit, and both agreed the law was pretty clear. Forgetting about warranties and everything else, the dealer is by law required to provide me with a vehicle that is safe to operate on the public...

I'm not a mechanic, or really even an enthusiast, but as far as I'm concerned it was totally a fluke thing. And, no, that dealer did not do the repairs, lol! I had the wheel initially repaired by the good folks at Monroe Muffler and Brake, and then I had my highly trusted local Ford service...

There was honestly no warning at all, it took me totally by surprise. At first I thought I hit something invisible in the road, but there was nothing at all. And actually two lug studs were found to be missing, and I believe the other two were stripped, so all four lug studs had to be replaced...

Thank you for the reply. I agree with you, and the most logical solution to explain ALL FOUR lug nuts failing at once is that the wheel was removed during the state safety inspection, but was not replaced correctly. Either way, my state law says the dealer is responsible to provide a vehicle...
