    Tires for 2.0LX

My 2002 ES takes 195/55 r15's and I bought Kumho KW17 winter tires at a cost of $105.00 each plus tax. The same tire also comes in the 195/50 r16 size, which is what Mazda put on the GT package. I'm in Toronto, but I would think any Kumho dealer could get a set of these for you. I'm very pleased...

Tire size for 2002 Protege ES

Not sure about the suspension components. But wheels like in Solid Snakes pic above and 195/50-16 tires, instead of 195/55-15. 4 wheel discs and spoiler. (fog lights came with the regular ES). GT package also included a sun roof. If I could have bought the ES with the nice wheels, 195/50-16...

Advise on when to replace battery and which is best

We've had our 2002 Protege since October of 2001. Should I replace the battery or should it be good for the coming Toronto winter? If it should be replaced, should I get a replacement from Mazda? Are there some specific makes that I should get instead of the Mazda battery? Thanks for any...

Tire size for 2002 Protege ES

Thanks for your replies. My Protege is the ES without the GT package. If I get new tires in the spring, I'll get 195/50R16's instead of the 195/55R15's that came with the car. My snows are 55R15's, which is probably a bit better for winter tracktion. Larry.

Tire size for 2002 Protege ES

What size are the tires supposed to be on the 2002 ES? Mine are 195/55-15, yet whenever I go to look at tires or wheels for it on line and check using the model and year, I end up looking at 195/50-16 tires or 16, 17 or 18" wheels. Did Mazda ship some with 15" wheels and some with 16" wheels...

    Inflation for winter tires

My summer tires, the original Potenzas that so many people hate, still have plenty of treadware left after 55,000 kms, though they are starting to show their age and I might replace them anyway. I've kept them at 32 psi with no problems. I think I'll stay with 32 for the winters as well. As...

    Inflation for winter tires

I just had a set of Kumho KW17's put on my 2002 Protege ES. The installer inflated them to 35 psi. I have always used 32 psi in summer and winter. He said that in winter they should have higher pressure and recommended leaving them at 35. I would appreciate your recommendations regarding this...

    Which winter tires to get?

whichever tires you decide on, be sure to price them out with a tire dealer before you buy them at the Mazda dealer. New care dealers are usually expensive for tires. Larry

    Which winter tires to get?

Winter tires for ES I'm new to this forum, but since I'm also looking at snows for an ES (2002), I thought I'd mention my findings. (P195/55 R15) I've had a few tires mentioned to me that are less expensive than the Blizzaks. First a make called Eurowin was recommended, but I'm a bit...
