Worked as System's Analyst/Technical Expert for Federal Agency until I was forced to take Disability Retirement at age 48 (ouch). But thankfully with the support of my husband, been together since 1989, but only allowed to be legally married recently - yes, we're a same-sex couple. Unfortunately our marriage, though recognized by the Federal Government, is still not recognized in all States of the USA. Because of this inequity, we have joined in the fight to ensure that State's that have discriminatory laws against same-sex marriage, will have those unconstitutional laws either overturned by the Courts, or by the Governments of those States involved.
