I just put on a set of front HPS pads last sunday that I got from Ken. I think they have a lot more initial bite than the stock pads do. I've been driving on them for a week now, it does seem there is less dust than stock.
i've been using Hawk pads. I have HP+'s for track use, and I just put on a set of HPS's for street use. I've been very happy with them. Protegegarage.com has the cheapest prices.
I have a set of Falken Azenis 615's I use for track days in that size (225/45). I have them on a set of 18" Momo rims. No issues with rubbing or anything. I had a few sessions in an event at Watkins Glen in the rain last summer and I left them on. I was quite impressed with the grip in the...

topbrakes.com is pretty good. they list everything for "speed" models only so they'll get it right. I bought some hawk hp+ from him for the track last summer and I usually order fluid from them. Free ground shipping and you can probably get a rush order for more $$. Pep Boys carries Hawk...
...and discount tire has 100$ off if you buy online. I bought a set of falkens a few months ago from them. and am going to buy a set of the azenis as well for track tires...
I read today that GT5 should be out early 2009, so expect it around 2011. GT5 Prologue is out April 17 though. 6 tracks, 60 cars, and online racing. No MS3 though, guess I'll have to stick to real life for now!
I just wanted to put a feeler our there on what track days, clubs, driving schools people have been going to. I wanna start planning on when and where I'm gonna go to this year. I've only done one 2 day event so far (BMWCCA at Watkins Glen) But I'll be doing quite a few this year. What else...
I had a great time at a BMW Club ultimate driving school in Aug at Watkins Glen. I'm sure they would have a few events at Road Atl. These types of schools you use your own car, keeps the cost down. PAy around 500$ to register. Put on some good tires and brakes and your goin!!!
I haven't done pads on this car myself. It looks like the brakes are more of a sportscar/racing setup. So probably not the same procedure as in the 3's teardown manual. Like I said, I haven't really done it myself. Just noticed when I was doing my own tire rotation.
I got a reply from Hawk today. All he said was that they didn't have any pads for our size/shape above the HP+, yet. I replied back and said we were expecting blues by aug and asked when they would be offered. Let you know when I hear back.
