Hello, I have a little pipe sticking out on the left side of the engine compartment, I think its something called the evaporator drain? Should it not have a hose connected to it and should it be leaking water when the air con hasn't been on?

Its tricky to pinpoint as its only really "loud" at about 60km/hr, but as best I can tell its front left hand side.

If it was a supercharger I wouldn't mind so much!!! :)

56,000km which is 34,000 miles. Difficult to tell but as far as I can see most of the belts etc. look original.

I definitely does it when the radio is off. I'll have to try and put it into neutral when I drive it next....

Thanks! Yeah, it seems to only do it whenever I hit the accelerator. I've been checking around various forums and read about possibilities from alternators to harmonic balancers! I'll have a look at the speakers though. I did recently change the spark plugs though, is there any possibility...

Hello! My protoge5 has suddenly developed a faint whining noise whenever I go over 60km/hr from then engine, and I think I can almost hear it when the car is stationary, it seems to be coming from the either the belt or more worryingly one of the two hoses. I don't know what the two hoses do...
