the stock bose speakers are good, not great. but you were saying your on a college kid budget, so i would go with a better sub and amp and then worry about door speakers later on.

i use the audison bit one so i can keep my stock head unit. it is a interface unit that allows you to control anything by using there controler that mounts nicely in the ash tray. for my sub i have the JL 13TW5....which is a sick sub! deep bass like a 12inch and tight hitting bass like a 10inch...
